Delete your My Trail Stories account
Last updated: 27 July 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of your My Trail Stories account and the data associated with it. My Trail Stories is developed by the My Trail Stories team. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Option 1 — Delete from within the app
The fastest way, if you have the app installed:
- Open the My Trail Stories app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account and associated data are deleted immediately, and you are signed out.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can’t access the app, you can request deletion by email:
- Send an email to beeshal55@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account.
- Use the subject line “Delete my account”.
- Include the email address (and name, if any) you used to sign in so we can verify ownership.
We verify the request comes from the account owner and complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner), then email you a confirmation.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account identity — email address and name held in our identity provider (AWS Cognito).
- Your account record on our servers, including your role and sign-in association.
- Your profile, saved items, and preferences stored on our servers.
Content stored only on your device — offline map areas, trips (Follow Mode), and imported GPX tracks — never leaves your device and is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
What data is kept, and for how long
After deletion we do not retain your personal data, except where we are required to keep limited records to comply with legal obligations. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup rotation, within 30 days.
